Whew, it’s been awhile!
*looks at date of last blog post*
Welcome to… um… mid-November. Where is time going? I don’t know about you, but it’s been flying by for me. The end of semester is rapidly approaching. Students aren’t the only ones feeling the crunch, so are professors, such as myself. These past few weeks have been a flurry of class lectures and quizzes to prepare, papers to grade, visits to the gym, and just living life in general.
Very literally, I think it has been at least a MONTH since the last time I have visited my neighborhood Panera Bread, which is where, you know, I get stuff done. Like writing blog posts. Which I have fallen behind on. Sadly.
And this is why I find myself sitting in a booth in Panera Bread on a Saturday evening. And I have photographic evidence.
Anyone recognize the background decor? Got on my signature “getting my productivity on” hoodie, earphones, and a smile. Sometimes we need to play catch up on the Productivity Tip whenever we can fit in a few extra minutes.
Time for a few updates
Firstly, let me start off with a hearty round of applause for the first official Your Grad School Coach client to gain admission to her graduate program of choice!
Congratulations to Miss Danyelle Thomas, who earned admission to the master’s degree program in Social Policy at Georgia State University. Danyelle and I worked together to add some polish and sparkle to her statement of purpose essay draft. Not only was she successfully admitted, but she was also awarded an assistantship to pay for her tuition!
Danyelle is such a superstar – I’m so incredibly proud and honored that I could play even a minor role in helping her gain admission to her first choice graduate program. I was so humbled that I was among the first people she reached out to to share the good news – even before the announcement went out on Facebook! Now you know that’s a BIG DEAL! lol
Looking For A Few Good Clients
The thick of grad school application season is headed toward us as we swiftly approach the month of December. It’s not a stretch of reality to say that most of us aren’t as proactive as Danyelle, who got finished and turned in her admissions essay months in advance. If you’re like the rest of the us, you’re still working on getting your draft as submission-ready as possible.
This brings me to my next major update. I recently added Essay Critiques and Reviews to my list of available services. The most major reason being that most applicants – even those with amazing writing skills – could benefit greatly from the review and revision process with someone with a critical eye for what admissions committees are looking for.
Your admissions essay could very well cinch your chances of getting into grad school… or not. Which side will you be on?
